These reports provide a comprehensive overview of the breadth and diversity of work being done by sectors, organisations, communities and individuals to prevent violence against women and family violence.
The three yearly reports include an overview of:
- enablers of and barriers to prevention work
- emerging trends and evolving practices in prevention work
- priorities for further action, research and investment.
Regular reporting to Parliament ensures preventing violence remains a priority for decision-makers.
The inaugural three yearly report Progress on Preventing Family Violence and Violence Against Women in Victoria was tabled in Parliament in September 2022. The next report will be tabled in late 2025, covering activity from the beginning of 2022 to the end of 2024.
Development of the 2025 report
The next three-year report to Parliament will seek to capture the extensive and diverse work happening across Victoria to prevent violence, including the tailored approaches and innovative programs that support different communities.
Respect Victoria is currently collecting information from various data sources to inform the next three year report, including:
- an online survey
- informant interviews
- formal data requests to government departments
- a desktop review of significant milestones, activities, and trends across the sector.
Take our survey to tell us about your prevention work
If you work in violence prevention, we want to hear from you. The purpose of this survey is to collect data on program activity, reach, impact, and barriers from organisations and practitioners involved in the prevention of gender-based violence across Victoria. It’s made up of 28 questions and will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
