Steve Roberts is Professor of Education & Social Justice in the School of Education, Culture and Society, and Associate Dean (Graduate Research) in the Faculty of Education, Monash University. He is a victim-survivor of family violence and an internationally esteemed researcher in the fields of men and masculinities, and youth transitions and inequality. His work includes studies of men’s engagement with risky drinking; sexting; friendship; computer gaming; violence; domestic labour; education; and so-called 'feminised' employment. Steve also co-led a program of research for VicHealth, under their ‘healthier masculinities for gender equality’ initiative (2018-2022). He currently co-leads an Australian Research Council project aimed at enhancing men’s participation in paid care work, and an ongoing study of the impact of social media masculinity 'influencers' upon women teachers and girls in Australian schools.
